Per ESPN, the Atlanta Braves have confirmed a deal with 34-year old outfielder and former Red Sox Jonny Gomes. The contract is worth $4 million for one season, and includes a vesting option for a second year.
Gomes finished the 2014 season with the Oakland Athletics after being traded alongside Jon Lester at the July 31 non-waiver trading deadline. Gomes hit .234/.329/.354 with six home runs and 32 RBI for Boston, and .234/.320/.250 with five runs batted in for Oakland.
For his career Gomes owns a .244/.335/.442 slash line with 155 home runs and 500 RBIs in 12 seasons.
One of Gomes' more memorable moments in a Boston uniform came in Game 4 of the 2013 World Series when he launched a go-ahead 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning.
